Grief is a reaction to any form of loss. It could be the loss of a loved one (also known as bereavement), loss of a relationship, or losing anything highly valuable for an individual. Each experiences grief differently. The loss can understandably give rise to intense emotions such as anger, guilt, and sadness. It can often be extremely challenging for one to reconnect with their lives.
Therapy provides the following and much more:
- A non-judgmental and compassionate space to explore feelings around the loss and to process the emotional pain
- Tools to understand and manage one’s difficult emotions
- A place to develop coping skills to manage the changes that take place after the loss
- A healing space that helps in slowly moving towards reconnecting with one’s world along with the memories of their loved one
